North Shields Fish Quay Company
North Shields Fish Quay Company Ltd engaged DTA Consulting Engineers in 1994 to design and project manage the construction of a 2000m² suspended quay and a fully serviced fish market building with refrigeration. The location and work presented a number of exacting engineering challenges requiring innovative solutions, all of which were accomplished on schedule and within budget. DTA have completed six further capital projects to date, all delivered on time and within budget, and are currently engaged in the design of the replacement of West Quay, a 4000m² suspended slab of pivotal importance to the economy of the entire north-east region’s fishing industry.
The total combined value of these projects is in excess of £13m and much of this cost has been met by European and UK Government grant-aid schemes. In this context, DTA's highly professional and qualified staff have understood their clear obligation to ensure value for money and have never deviated from providing the most efficient and cost-effective design and contract management service.
